Bat Flips get real on Lotte Giants supercut video

We all love bat flips, but the Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization have taken it to the next level.

The bat flip has become serious business in the Korean Baseball Organization, and we’ve been rewarded with some pretty fantastic videos from across the ocean of some of these majestic displays over the past several months. In fact, it has become such a calling card for the organization and its players, that eventually someone was going to find a way to capitalize on it.

That’s where the Lotte Giants stepped up to the plate and hit one out of the park.

Perhaps feeling that we don’t quite do the bat flip justice by capturing it in 30-second clips or GIFs, the Giants decided to put together a super cut of the team’s best flips of the season. Plainly put, it was outstanding.

There are a couple of great takeaways from this clip. Firstly, the ball seems to fly at an exorbitant rate in South Korea, which makes hitting home runs in Wiffle Ball look difficult. Secondly, Lotte players don’t necessarily reserve the bat flip for home runs either. They’ll launch the lumber for line drives, ground balls, or any other contact they seem to make at the plate.

Unfortunately, killer bat flip techniques don’t necessarily translate into wins, as the Giants are currently in 8th place in their division and own a record of 54-62. But hey, wins aren’t everything in baseball. Showmanship puts the butts in the seats as well, and the Lotte Giants seem to have the market grabbed on showmanship.
