DraftKings Lineup For August 28

More from DFS

DraftKings has been doing some early pre-season lineups for NFL Fantasy Football. I have toyed around with some lineups here and this is quite a bit more difficult than playing during the regular season. However this does a couple of things: it allows us to get some practice in and it allows us a chance to win some money to play during the regular season.

The key to doing good in this pre-season daily fantasy league football stuff is to do some homework and hit up the beat writers to see who is supposed to play the most. Usually most coaches will let us know who is going to see the most reps and who we can expect to put in work and get some fantasy points for us.

Here are my DraftKings picks for August 28:

  • QB: Matthew Stafford, Lions ($5,500): In this short three game slate for the games tonight I simply think that Stafford is the best QB options available. I would have possibly went with Marcus Mariota, but it is looking like rain for that game.

RB: Jamaal Charles, Chiefs ($5,500): This is the third pre-season game and I am expecting to see Charles see quite a few snaps to get him ready for the regular season. He is certainly the best option on the RB trail for tonight and the only way we lose out is if Charles does not see 10-15 touches tonight.

RB: Jonathan Stewart, Panthers ($5,500): I am a pretty big fan of Stewart coming into this season. I have several reason really and among those are how he finished the 2014 campaign. Another reason is that if he fails me this season there is a good chance that he won’t be around to let me down next year. I also don’t think that he has a lot of wear and tear and am hoping that he holds up health wise this season. If he does I expect a solid break out season this year.

    Next: DraftKings WR Options

Aug 13, 2015; Detroit, MI, USA; Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate (15) runs for a touchdown during the first quarter against the New York Jets in a preseason NFL football game at Ford Field. Mandatory Credit: Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

    WR Options:

Golden Tate, Lions ($5,500): Golden Tate spent the better part of the 2014 season surpassing expectation while Megatron sat idly by. Tonight we will see Calvin Johnson sitting on the sidelines and really that is about all we need to know. We can expect that Tate will follow suit and have a big night as one of Stafford’s favorite targets with Megatraon resting.

Jeremy Maclin, Chiefs ($5,500): Maclin is showing why the Chiefs wanted him so badly. Last week he caught a TD out of the backfield and should be a safe bet to find the end one in the third week of pre-season. This is the week that coaches typically like to run some stuff that will be similar to the regular season.

Allen Robinson, Jaguars ($5,500): Robinson should see plenty of time tonight and is showing just how freakish of an ahtlete he really is. He has quickly become Bortles’ number one target and will hopefully light it up for us tonight.

Next: DraftKings TE, FLEX and DST Options

Aug 22, 2015; New Orleans, LA, USA; New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (87) gestures before their game against the New Orleans Saints at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Mandatory Credit: Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

    DraftKings Lineup Options:

TE: Rob Gronkowski, Patriots ($5,500): I am not sure how you could even consider running with another TE tonight. I could possibly see using Kelce, but I mean really? Just plug in the Gronk and forget about it.

FLEX: Ameer Abdullah, Lions ($5,500): Here is the biggest wildcard in out lineup, but he is acting as the featured back with no Joique Bell in the lineup and should see plenty of touches that will put him over the top for tonight.

DST: Chiefs DST ($5,500) The thinking here is really pretty simple. I will take a solid defense with lots of players coming back and squaring off with a rookie QB who can be known to have a case of fumbleitous. Also with rain in the forecast it could lend to even more turnovers for a stingy Chiefs defense.

As always we thank you for stopping by and we wish you all the best of luck!
