Until the 2015-16 NBA season begins in October, we’re stranded in an offseason full of boredom, desperate searches for new highlights on YouTube, and more boredom. Yet, after being signed by the Dallas Mavericks, Wesley Matthews is doing the best he can to provide us with a little entertainment to help kill the time.

As Matthews continues to work back to full health after rupturing an Achilles last season, he’s taken to somewhat unorthodox methods when practicing. On his official Facebook page, he’s posted two videos demonstrating how his rehab is going, which has resulted in him working out whilst riding a PhunkeeDuck.

For those of you who don’t know, a PhunkeeDuck is essentially a piece of plastic on two wheels, that people apparently use to get around on, dance on, and now play basketball on, courtesy of Wesley Matthews.

The Mavericks signed the three point marksman this summer after they failed to land DeAndre Jordan, which at least gave them some consolation despite the All-NBA center going back on his verbal agreement to come to Dallas.

As a 39.3 percent three point shooter and seriously underrated perimeter defender, Matthews has a lot to offer the Mavericks. Their offense struggled significantly under the play of Rajon Rondo, but with Matthews, they at least have a guaranteed shooting threat and defensive presence. Obviously he will need time to adjust after such a serious injury, and he may lack the same explosiveness for a while, but there’s no question that his talent is still there.

And on top of that, he seems to be quite the joker and PhunkeeDuck pro as well.
