318-pound Angelo Blackson almost catches touchdown (Video)
Tennessee Titans rookie Angelo Blackson is a large man making incredible touchdown grabs that get called back
The Tennessee Titans are certainly hoping that their receiving core will become weapons for rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota. After all, if Mariota has no one to throw to, there’s only so much you can expect him to do. If Kendal Wright, Justin Hunter, Delanie Walker, and others don’t pan out, they should give 318-pound rookie lineman Angelo Blackson a shot.
During the Titans’ final preseason game, Ryan Succop was attempting a field goal when the snap went awry. Trying to save the play, Succop heaved the pigskin towards the endzone where the big man Blackson was waiting to make an over-the-shoulder grab:
Is that Odell Beckham Jr. or a rookie lineman out there? Blackson is out here looking like he was put on this earth to catch touchdown passes, except for the fact that he’s the size of an NFL lineman, of course. In terms of skill, though, he has the intangibles you can’t teach a lineman in the receiving game.
Unfortunately, Blackson’s touchdown didn’t count and his receiving effort was all for naught. What are almost as good as fat guy touchdowns? The answer is clearly big men almost scoring touchdowns. Even if you didn’t get the six points, stand tall Angelo Blackson; this is your day.
