We recently talked about which NFL teams might sneak up on us and make a run intoāand ināthe playoffs. Today though, weāre going to look at teams which have very little chance of making the playoffsāmuch less winning the Super Bowl.
Sure, we all want to believe that our teams have a shot, no matter how bad they look. And not all these teams are horrible, but some of them are flawed in a way that will keep them from succeeding while others are in a division or face a schedule which will make it far too tough to come out the other side intact.
The five teams in this pieceāthe Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Chicago Bears and Washingtonāall have some significant issues.
There are certainly some who think their team should in no way be on this list while, say, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants or any number of other teams should take their place.
In the end, those teams are pretty unlikely to win the Super Bowl (though frankly, that seems to be when the Giants have some success). However, their flawsāas great as they may beāarenāt quite as bad. Itās the difference between a large gorge and the Grand Canyon in some cases and infinitesimal in others.
At the end of the day, though, these teams are the ones who have the roughest paths to success. They may have some of the pieces, yes, but for the most part they all have weaknesses that generally will overcome the better aspects of their teams.
Make sure you drop your own lists in the commentsāfor now, here is mine.
