FanDuel Picks For Week 1

More from DFS

We are finally here! The pre-season is over and the regular season for the NFL kicks this Thursday, September 10. With the kickoff of the season here it also brings back what has become a very fun and intense pass time for tons of you fantasy football fans.

We here at Fantasy CPR will work very hard and do everything that we can to bring you articles to prepare you and help you be successful with your bids and games at FanDuel and DraftKings just as we have with MLB and NBA. I always recommend that you do plenty of homework on your own as well as reading our articles. You will also want to make sure that you have access to your FanDuel lineup prior to kickoff in case a player is a last-minute inactive.

Here are my FanDuel picks for week 1:

Next: ”Quarterback

  • 6 players to avoid at your Fantasy Football draftNFL Mocks
  • Sam Bradford, Eagles ($7,500): Sam Bradford probably has a sore spot with most regular season fantasy football players. Most of the daily fantasy league players are all playing in regular season fantasy leagues. My guess is that most people will shy away from Bradford until he proves himself on a regular basis. Not this guy, I think Bradford is going to be a great play, particularly in daily leagues. In a daily league you somewhat minimize the injury risk that he poses. In this offense Bradford could possibly toss four to five touchdowns a game. Against the Falcons I am expecting it to be a high scoring game, so sign me up for that.

    Running Backs:

C.J. Anderson, Broncos ($8,400): Anderson may have a bit of a tough match-up, but I am a big believer in his talent and also a believer in his situation. Anderson will likely be a 20 touch kind of guy and that should include plenty of red zone looks in a busy Peyton Manning offense.

Justin Forsett, Ravens ($7,800): Forsett is coming off of a somewhat surprising year as the lead back for the Ravens. In what I believe should be a fairly high scoring game Forsett will serve for the Ravens as the three down back and should be in line for plenty of touches. I am also expecting a large share of red zone looks and plenty of opportunities to find the end zone.

    Next: Wide Receiver Options

    Wide Receiver Options:

Golden Tate, Lions ($7,100): Tate is coming off of a great year where he really stepped up in the extended absence of Calvin Johnson. He developed some nice chemistry with Matthew Stafford and will look to take a load of pressure off of Stafford and keep the coverage balances with Johnson entering the season healthy. I am expecting a big year for Tate and a big opening week.

Emmanuel Sanders, Broncos ($8,200): Sanders should be in line for a large chunk of work and targets from Peyton Manning. Sanders is another player coming off of a great year and looking to keep up his big play this year. It is never a bad idea to use a Manning WR and I am expecting to see Sanders with a huge week 1.

John Brown,, Cardinals ($6,100): I am hoping with this pick for Michael Floyd to either be limited or out for week 1. Browns saw a nice share of targets from Carson Palmer and we had word for most of the preseason that Brown and Palmer have worked extensively together this summer and have developed a nice chemistry. This is a bit of a gamble and I could change this pick if I get word that Floyd is a full go for week 1.

Next: Tight End, Kicker and Defense

Dec 18, 2014; Jacksonville, FL, USA; Tennessee Titans running back Leon Washington (29) is congratulated by Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker (82) after he scored a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars during the first quarter at EverBank Field. Mandatory Credit: Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

    Tight End:

Delanie Walker, Titans ($5,400): This pick is one that is sort of gut feeling. I am thinking with a rookie QB that a veteran tight end with good hands should quickly become a favorite target. We don’t have much to go on here, but I like this pick.

    Defense:

Cleveland Browns ($4,600): I will be honest here, there is not a lot of research or science behind this pick. I went with the Browns based on the simple fact that they are playing the Jets. They are also cheap and Ryan Fitzpatrick is not the best QB in the world.

    Kicker:

Adam Vinatieri, Colts ($5,000): Once again I did not put a ton of research into this pick either, but how can you go wrong with quite possibly one of the best kickers to have ever played the game. He also happens to be in one of the better offenses in the league. Sign me up for this guy as well.

As always we thank you for stopping by and we wish you FanDuelers the best of luck!
