Texas Longhorns vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Texas Longhorns get their 2015 football season underway this Saturday with a matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Stadium.
Malik Zaire will be making just his second career start for the Fighting Irish, but the junior quarterback has been the talk of the town in South Bend, Ind. this offseason, and rightfully so. He is a true dual-threat that can beat you with both his arm and his legs, something he proved during the team’s Music City Bowl victory over LSU last season. Head coach Brian Kelly is blessed with one of the most experienced rosters in the country, returning 19 starters from 2014.
For Texas, head coach Charlie Strong is looking to bounce back from a disappointing inaugural campaign with the Longhorns. His team went 6-7 last season, the second-worst performance by a University of Texas football team in 17 years. Strong is replacing several key pieces on the defensive side of the ball, while quarterback Tryone Swoopes looks to improve his decision making in 2015. Both of these things will be vital to the Longhorns’ success this season.
The game will be televised on NBC, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Live Streaming will also be available via NBC Sports Live Extra.
