ULM Warhawks vs. Georgia Bulldogs
The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks begin their 2015 campaign this Saturday by heading to Sanford Stadium for a showdown with the ninth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. While it may be a tall order, head coach Todd Berry will look to prevent the Warhawks from getting blown out by Mark Richt and the Bulldogs.
If Louisiana-Monroe is going to keep this game close it is going to be because redshirt freshman quarterback Garrett Smith delivers an elite performance. The Warhawks finished 2014 with the third-worst rushing attack in the nation, averaging a dismal 2.3 yards per carry. It is unlikely that their backfield will be able to make much of an impact against a Georgia defense that features one of the most talented linebacker trios in the nation in Leonard Floyd, Jordan Jenkins and Lorenzo Carter.
In addition to outmatching Louisiana-Monroe with their defense, Georgia has one of the most talented players in the country in sophomore running back Nick Chubb. He will look to kick off his Heisman campaign with a memorable performance in front of the home crowd, but will likely see limited action if the game gets out of hand early. Graduate transfer Greyson Lambert will be lining up under center for the Bulldogs.
The game will be televised on the SEC Network, with kickoff scheduled for noon ET. Live streaming will also be available via Watch ESPN.
