Reunited and it feels so good: James Jones reportedly to sign with Green Bay Packers

It looks as if James Jones will be heading back to the Green Bay Packers
By all indications, receiver James Jones, recently released from the Giants, will be returning to his lost love, the one that got away, his one-and-only — the Green Bay Packers. ESPN reported on Sunday that Jones said, “That’s the plan” when asked if he would sign with his former team.

Landing at the Austin Straubel Airport on the way to what is sure to be an emotionally-charged, tear-filled reunion, Jones said, also per ESPN, “I’m only one year removed. It seems like 10 years, but time will wait. Get with Aaron. I’m sure they probably have some new stuff. We’ll see what happens, but let’s make it happen first.”
A Rodgers-Jones reunion will mitigate the pain and horror the team surely felt when receiver Jordy Nelson fell to a torn ACL in the Packers preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jones and Rodgers spent six years together in Green Bay. Jones was with the team a total of seven years before joining the Oakland Raiders for the 2014 season.
Jones has performed consistently throughout his career, tallying 666 yards with the Raiders in 2014. His final two year with the Packers were his strongest seasons with 817 yards / three touchdowns in 2013 and 817 yards / 14 touchdowns in 2012.
If I were in charge of the playlist for the afternoon at Lambeau Field, I would definitely include Marvin Gaye’s Lets Get it On and Peaches and Herb’s Reunited. I’m not in charge of the playlist, though. I’m sure quarterback Aaron Rodgers has that covered.
