NFL 2015: A musical preview for three matchups
By Dani Bostick
The NFL regular season is upon is. Finally. I mean, seriously, how long does the offseason need to be? Apparently, the NFL thinks it needs the longest offseason in professional sports.
This year, it was so long I tried to follow golf on TV again, considered taking up golf again myself, and sat on my sofa and stared at my TV, hoping somehow, some way, if I wished and hoped hard enough it would be Sept. 10 and a real NFL game would appear on the screen. It didn’t work.
We are just a few days away from the NFL regular-season kickoff between the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Foxborough.
“And all the fans in the NFL clothed themselves in numbered jerseys and said, ‘AMEN!'”
The fans also got out their eating pants, stocked up on chips, bought cases of substandard beer, and tried to decide whether to make chili or grill for the game day main course. I also used the preseason to test last year’s superstitious rituals so I know they are effective when it matters most. I’m ready for that aspect of fandom as well.
Just a few days to go, and I’m killing time before the 2015 regular season kick off by making three mini-playlists for three Week 1 match-ups.
