It feels like the Phoenix Suns put out a new uniform or two on an annual basis, and the 2015-16 season will be no exception. Not only will the Suns have the home white, purple away, orange alternate, purple “Los Suns” (for Noches éne-bé-a) and the weird, sleeved ember kits they donned for the first time last season, but a new, black alternate, too. Get a glimpse of the entire group below, courtesy of the Suns’ official Twitter account:

I’m typically an apologist when it comes to the Suns’ uniform ensemble, but these black “Civic Pride” uniforms are kinda meh. Teams will offer a backstory when it comes to how these uniforms were created nowadays, and here’s Phoenix’s explanation for these doozies (via Suns.com):

"The color of the uniform hearkens back to another group of the Valley’s favorite Suns, too. The black jersey and shorts pay homage to the alternate set that debuted during Sir Charles’ reign during the 1994-95 season. The purple and orange piping along the neckline is also a call back to that beloved uniform. The numbers and font along with the shorts tie in the current iteration of the Suns uniforms, creating a look that honors the past and present of the franchise. The Suns were the first franchise in Phoenix and are the only one with the city name across their chestsWe Are PHX is more than just a slogan. It’s a movement, a rallying cry for a fan base and a city. Now, thanks to this new Suns look, it has a uniform to call it’s own too."

Sure, whatever you say, Suns. On the most basic of levels, a team called the “Suns” donning this uniform makes none of the sense. “Hey, we’re the Suns, and the sun emits an incredible amount of light, so how about an all-black uni?” These are still better than those ember things, but they should just bring these beauties back full-time, instead. They also decided to hack the sleeves off the orange jersey, which is always a plus.

Phoenix also showed-off their new court design, which you can see here:
