Report: Cameron Jordan being investigated over incident at nightclub
By Josh Hill
New Orleans Saints defensive star Cam Jordan is being investigated by police after an incident at a nightclub.
With the NFL regular season starting in under a week, the New Orleans Saints are having to deal with off-field issues that might put a damper on the opening weekend festivities. After an offseason in which Junior Gallette was let go by the team after an incident that involved domestic abuse, the Saints are now monitoring a situation that involves Cam Jordan.
According to WWL4 in New Orleans, the Saints star is being investigated over an incident at a nightclub recently.
"Sources say that the NOPD is investigating an incident at the Republic nightclub that happened sometime either late Saturday night or early Sunday. The report, according to sources, was made by a man and his girlfriend alleging that Jordan swatted the woman on her buttocks and then had a minor scuffle with her boyfriend."
The details of what went down are too sketchy to put together at the moment, but police are involved and that’s never a good sign for an NFL team. This could be a case of due diligence, but the NFL is taking these kinds of incidents more and more seriously, which is something that is going to make how this Cam Jordan situation plays out even more interesting.
No arrest warrant was issued, which is a good sign for the Saints, but it’s hardly the end of the issue. Week 1 is what the team wants to be focusing on, but yet again their attention is being pulled away to an off-field incident involving a star player.
