Since ESPN has axed their College Football Challenge, I have decided to take my prognosticating to FanDuel. The format is a little different at FanDuel since there is actually a salary cap, but being somewhat confined isn’t always a bad thing. It may make you look at some players that you would otherwise ignore.

There are only three games this week between the Thursday and Friday slates in college. That means there will likely be plenty of doubling up in the FanDuel world. To win some cash over the next couple of days, you are going to have to take a pick or two that aren’t widely owned. I will attempt to give you some information to direct you to those.

Here are my college football FanDuel picks for September 10/11:

Next: Who Is The Best QB?

Nov 29, 2014; Miami Gardens, FL, USA; Miami Hurricanes quarterback Brad Kaaya (15) drops back to pass against Pittsburgh Panthers during the first half at Sun Life Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterback:

Best Bet:

Brad Kaaya, Miami ($7,900): Florida Atlantic’s defense was shredded by Tulsa, especially through the air. Kaaya will do the same. Even if he does only play for three quarters or so, he should get you around 30 FanDuel points. That makes him a solid bargain for his price.

Honorable Mention:

Jeff Driskel, Louisiana Tech ($8,000): If the name sounds familiar, it should. Driskel became a household name for all the wrong reasons a couple of years ago at Florida. His LaTech debut went great, as he put up some gaudy numbers against Southern. Western Kentucky should put up a little more of a fight, but not much. The Hilltopper defense was average against a below average Vanderbilt offense. Driskel could approach 30 FanDuel points again because this will be a shootout.

Dark Horse:

Travis Wilson, Utah ($7,500): Wilson was held somewhat in check by an improved Michigan defense. Utah State’s defense is a far cry from Michigan’s. This will get ugly if the Aggies offense struggled the way it did last week against Southern Utah. The Utes are going to eat them alive. Look for Wilson to move the ball on the ground as well as through the air. He could be a sneaky play.

My Pick: Kaaya

Next: Should You Pay For RB's?

Sep 5, 2015; Miami Gardens, FL, USA; Miami Hurricanes running back Mark Walton (1) leaps over Bethune Cookman Wildcats defensive back Austin Walker (35) during the first half at Sun Life Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Running Back:

Best Bets:

Kenneth Dixon, Louisiana Tech ($8,700): Dixon only ran nine times in the rout of Southern last weekend, so he should be very well rested for Western Kentucky. The Bulldogs spent most of the Southern game trying to get Jeff Driskel acclimated to the offense. This week, Dixon will be back to his usual role. He scored at least one touchdown in every game last season. He put up a solid 24.1 FanDuel points against WKU last year. Expect more of the same this time around.

Mark Walton, Miami ($6,800): The Hurricanes are using a committee approach at the moment, but they seem to be taking a longer look at the freshman Walton. They should this week as well in what will likely amount to a glorified scrimmage against the Owls.

Honorable Mention:

Devontae Booker, Utah ($9,500): Booker is the most dangerous player in the Utah offense, but Michigan managed to keep him under wraps. He only averaged 3.1 yards per carry on 22 attempts last Saturday. It won’t get any easier for Booker. Utah State is tough up front. Wilson has a better chance because of his escapability. Booker has to run right at them, which limits his value some.

Joe Yearby, Miami ($6,600): Yearby padded his stats in garbage time last week. Look for more of the same this week.

Dark Horse:

Greg Howell, Florida Atlantic ($6,300): Howell had a huge game against Tulsa. While that likely won’t happen again, the Owls will lean heavily on Howell to see if they can keep the game close by keeping the ball away from the Miami offense. Of course, the flip side of this is that the Hurricanes could shut him down and render him useless in a blowout.

My Picks: Dixon and Walton

Next: Who Can We Rely On To Haul In Passes?

Oct 25, 2014; Hattiesburg, MS, USA; Louisiana Tech Bulldogs wide receiver Trent Taylor (5) makes a catch while defended by Southern Miss Golden Eagles defensive back Jacorius Cotton (28) in the second half at M.M. Roberts Stadium. Louisiana Tech won, 31-20. Mandatory Credit: Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Wide Receiver:

Best Bets:

Trent Taylor, Louisiana Tech ($6,200): Taylor put up huge numbers against Western Kentucky last year (9 catches, 113 yards, 3 touchdowns), but that was with Cody Sokol throwing to him instead of Jeff Driskel. Still, Taylor has scored eight touchdowns in his last five games. He is a favorite target of whomever is under center for the Bulldogs.

Taywan Taylor, Western Kentucky ($6,300): If Jared Dangerfield is held out again, Taylor could have a big game. Even if Dangerfield does play, there should be plenty of balls to go around. Vanderbilt did a great job of shutting down Brandon Doughty and the high flying Hilltopper passing attack. Expect Doughty to come out throwing against LaTech. That bodes well for all of the Hilltopper receivers.

Honorable Mention:

Rashawn Scott, Miami ($6,900): Scott has emerged as Kaaya’s favorite target. He was the only Miami player to catch more than two passes last week. He should be targeted a lot once again against FAU.

Paul Turner, Louisiana Tech ($5,300): Turner hauled in nine passes for 84 yards and a touchdown last season against the Hilltoppers. He scored a touchdown in the opener against Southern as well, so he should see plenty of balls come his way against Western Kentucky in what will be a high scoring game.

Dark Horse:

Jenson Stoshak, Florida Atlantic ($6,000): His success hinges on the ability of the FAU line to keep QB Jaquez Johnson on his feet. If they can, Stoshak is an interesting play considering he is easily the best receiver for the Owls. This is still a risky play against a solid Miami defense though.

My Picks: Taylor, Taylor, and Turner

Next: One TE Really Stands Out

Sep 3, 2015; Nashville, TN, USA; Western Kentucky Hilltoppers tight end Tyler Higbee (82) celebrates after a play during the second half against Vanderbilt Commodores at Vanderbilt Stadium. Western Kentucky Hilltoppers won 14-12. Mandatory Credit: Joshua Lindsey-USA TODAY Sports

Tight End:

Best Bet:

Tyler Higbee, Western Kentucky ($3,700): Higbee was a monster against Vanderbilt, coming up with big catch after big catch when the Hilltoppers needed it most. You can bet that Doughty will remember that as the season goes on. That marks two big games for Higbee in his last three, and he is emerging as one of the leading TE options early on.

Honorable Mention:

Standish Dobard, Miami ($3,000): Dobard will likely be dependent on touchdowns this year, and he may not need to have a big game against FAU. That makes him a bit of a risk, but every TE is in this tournament.

Dark Horse

Wyatt Houston, Utah State ($2,400): The Aggies will likely be looking for Houston to bail them out when Chuckie Keeton is forced to scramble. The Utes areĀ going to be chasing Keeton all day. If Houston can get open, he has the potential for a good day.

My Pick: Higbee
