The Pittsburgh Steelers look like an unmitigated dumpster fire thus far on defense, losing 14-0 to the New England Patriots in the second quarter of Thursday night’s NFL season opener.

Frankly, nobody should be shocked that Pittsburgh is playing terrible defense. The unit is without Hall of Fame coordinator Dick LeBeau, safety Troy Polamalu, corner Ike Taylor and linebacker Jason Worilds, four key member throughout the years. LeBeau left for the Tennessee Titans, while the other three retired.

The good news? Pittsburgh has a great offense, so it can get back into this game if the defense shows up. Unfortunately, the Steelers don’t appear to be capable of that, so don’t expect a massive comeback out of the black and gold.
