DA files 3 misdemeanor charges for Aldon Smith
By Mike Dyce
Newly signed Oakland Raider Aldon Smith had three misdemeanor charges filed against him on Friday.
The Oakland Raiders signed former San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Aldon Smith on Friday. That move was briefly celebrated however, with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office filing three misdemeanor charges against Aldon Smith.
This isn’t necessarily new or surprising information, these August run-ins with the law hadn’t gone away and it was just a matter of time before the legal system went to work. Smith will face arraignment on October 6th, a Tuesday.
It will be interesting to watch how Smith’s tenure with the Raiders goes, he could be embracing this new opportunity which he was gifted and quite frankly doesn’t deserve and might use it to get things turned around.
History seems to suggest otherwise with Smith however and you have to imagine everyone in the Raiders organization is tensely watching Smith this season to see how it plays out.
