The Browns are having a really, really bad week
Aldon Smith is on the west coast attempting to revitalize his career with the Oakland Raiders, and the Cleveland Browns are busy self-destructing in Ohio. Earlier in the week, Browns offensive line coach Andy Moeller ended up in hot water after his fiancee called 911 alleging he had attempted to strangle her. The team has suspended him indefinitely.
Friday night, Ian Rapoport reported that the Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert was involved in a car accident after a “traffic altercation.”

The 2014 eighth overall pick out of Oklahoma State did not contribute as much as the Browns had hoped, suffering from illness and a heel injury during his rookie season. Gilbert was heavily criticized last season along with the Browns other first-round pick Johnny Manziel who was also disappointing to fans and teammates. Of the criticism, Gilbert said at the time, “I’m not mad at anyone about it. I brought it upon myself and I can take that and roll with it. I messed up, but I can promise my teammates I’m going to make it right.”
So far this regular season, it seems Gilbert has not done a good job making amends.
