The Arizona Cardinals have looked good in their regular season opener against the New Orleans Saints, but everything is not going great. Arizona running back Andre Ellington had to leave the game with a knee injury, after he took a handoff and then crumbled to the ground without being hit.
#Cardinals announce RB Andre Ellington, who was carted to the locker room, has a right knee injury and his return is questionable.

Ellington carried 12 times for 69 yards and a touchdown before sustaining the injury in the third quarter. Hopefully, Ellington will be able to return to the Cardinals at some point this season, but those non-contact injuries can be a major scare. Arizona fans know this all too well, with quarterback Carson Palmer suffering a torn ACL last year against the St. Louis Rams without being touched.

Without Ellington in the lineup, the Cardinals will rely heavily on Chris Johnson, who was signed during training camp to be insurance in a case like this. Arizona likes to run the football between the tackles under head coach Bruce Arians, despite having a trio of talented receivers in John Brown, Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald. With Johnson coming into the fold, Arizona will now be looking to run more on the perimeter.
