The Houston Texans are trying to patchwork together a group of running backs to fill in for the injured Arian Foster, who is recovering from groin surgery.
According to a report from CBS, Foster has been telling teammates that a return in the second week of the season is “quite possible.” The Texans go on the road to face the Carolina Panthers in the second week of the season and host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
This follows up a report from CBS’ Jason La Canfora who said his return would come in either Week 2 or 3.
If Foster is unable to play in Week 2, or the Texans decide to give him an extra week of rest to ensure he is fully healthy when he returns, Week 3 seems like an almost lock at this point.
Fantasy football owners who drafted Foster have to be pleased with the progress that he is showing. Taking a risk on him returning early might seem like a move that will pay off if he only ends up missing one season.
