Chicago Bears receiver Eddie Royal had to leave the game after a blow to the head and he wasn’t happy about it
Eddie Royal looked to be a big factor in the passing game for the Chicago Bears to begin the 2015 NFL season. With an injury to rookie Kevin White and the departure of Brandon Marshall, Royal seemed to be the obvious beneficiary and like he would be in a bigger role. However, his day in that role in Week One is already over.
Royal took a big hit to the head and was left down on the field for a bit in the second quarter, though he reportedly was never unconscious. He needed help off the field and that made the veteran receiver none too happy about what was happening as he exited the field and the game (Warning: harsh language):
It’s understandable that Royal would be upset after getting hurt and having to leave the action, but he needs to consider his long-term health.
Royal didn’t return for the rest of the first half and it doesn’t appear that he will be returning in this game. How long he’ll be out on a larger scale is still unknown at this point.
