Detroit Lions vs. San Diego Chargers

The opening weekend of the 2015 NFL season rolls along this Sunday, and one of the match ups that we’ll see features two teams that are coming in with some playoff hopes on their minds. Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions will head out west to take on Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers.

Last season the Lions made that return trip to the playoffs, but it did not end the way they would have wanted it to. They were defeated by the Dallas Cowboys in the opening game and were sent home packing early. This season, they want to see if they can take the next step, and that journey begins on Sunday.

The Chargers are coming in having just locked up their quarterback, Rivers, for the next few seasons. After trying to get a new deal done for quite some time now, the two sides came to an agreement and the road to a title for them starts on Sunday as well.

This showdown on Sunday will be broadcast on FOX and you can live stream it through the NFL Sunday Ticket service.
