The Philadelphia Eagles look like a team that revamped its entire roster in the offseason, got considerably worse, than took the field on Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. Wait … that is exactly who the Philadelphia Eagles are!
All offseason, we listened to how the Eagles were going to come into the regular season and challenge for a trip to the Super Bowl. In the preseason, ESPN analysts were breathlessly showing highlights of Sam Bradford and the offense not needing to punt. Then, the regular season started, and at halftime of the first game, the Eagles were trailing 20-3 to the surprisingly effective Falcons.
In what can only be termed as a major shock, Philadelphia is getting hammered on the Twitter:
Eagles running that Steelers "don't cover the main guy" defense.

All the #Eagles need now is Vince Young to start the second half.

The Eagles look like Dez Bryant's foot! #Broken

As underwhelming a first half I've seen from a Chip Kelly Eagles team. They're lucky to be within 3 scores.

.@Eagles look the same as they did last December. @AtlantaFalcons -- not so much

I don't understand why the Eagles and their dominant running backs can't run the ball on 3rd and 1.

Now 24 passes, 5 runs for Eagles. I don't get this.

This is the worst the #Eagles have looked since training camp opened.

The Eagles have exactly eight rushing yards on seven carries. Good thing the Eagles dropped $51 million on DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews. So far, those two have combined for two total yards and -4 yards rushing. Also, anytime you can cut Evan Mathis and Todd Herremans without replacing them, you apparently have to do it.
Good luck, Chip!
