Reggie Bush Injury Update: 49ers running back sustains apparent ankle injury
Reggie Bush limped off the field after suffering an apparent ankle injury
Reggie Bush Injury update: Reggie Bush looked quite explosive in his first taste of action with the San Francisco 49ers. The elusive veteran looked to have found new life in the Bay Area and with a new team, making plays as both a runner and pass-catcher out of the backfield. An apparent ankle injury ended that quickly for the 49ers running back.
Bush took a carry midway through the first quarter up the gut and went down just past the first down marker. It’s unclear whether or not the apparent injury happened prior to taking a low hit or not, but he was in obvious pain as he limped off the field after the play:
It’s unfortunate considering his talent, but this is the type of thing that has plagued Bush for most of his NFL career. He has a history in this league of getting dinged up and missing substantial amounts of time.
After going to the sideline, the veteran running back was carted off the field with his head down, looking despondent. ESPN’s Lindsey Czarniak reported from the Monday Night Football crew that he is questionable to return, saying it’s a left leg injury.
