Akeem Ayers ended the Russell Wilson-St. Louis Rams Twitter feud with a perfect photo to silence a fan.

As one of the biggest stars in the NFL, a two-time Pro Bowler and Superbowl champion, it’s safe to say that Russell Wilson’s confidence has grown a lot since he entered the league in 2012. However, that doesn’t give him an excuse to get big headed when it comes to what he posts on social media.

Specifically, an extremely premature Tweet before the Seattle Seahawks faced the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

It wasn’t the first time he’s done it, but on Saturday, Russell Wilson was hasty to predict what his Seahawks’ record would be after their opening game to the 2015-16 season:

That would soon be corrected by the Rams, though. They’re known for their tough defensive line, but it was a still a surprising result to see the Seahawks begin their season with a 34-31 loss in overtime to St. Louis.

Russell may have completed 78 percent of his passes on Sunday for a modest 251 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, but the rams came at him with full force to tally up 6 sacks.

He may be one of the most elusive quarterbacks in the NFL when escaping the pocket, yet it wasn’t enough. And as a result, the Rams didn’t wait long to respond to his over-confidence on Twitter with the following reply:

After a reply like that, and with the Rams in total control of the situation after claiming a 1-0 record to begin their season, the embarrassment for the Seahawks and Wilson didn’t end there.

Akeem Ayers, a linebacker for the Rams, decided to join the virtual feud:

In response to that, a fan took to the defense of Russell Wilson by tweeting “his Twitter fingers got a ring on it buddy”. Then, to put an amazing end to the Twitter war, Ayers posted a photo that looks as though it’s been saved for weeks for such an occasion:

That’s right; Ayers was a part of the New England Patriots team that defeated the Seahawks in the 2015 Superbowl. It doesn’t matter he wasn’t a key player, he still had the hardware to prove his point online.

Ayer’s response now seems to have been deleted from Twitter, but the quality of the photo (and of course the pose itself) was perfect for such an occasion.
