Chris Bosh thinks Heat can ‘absolutely’ win East this year
By Mike Dyce
Chris Bosh thinks the Miami Heat can win the Eastern Conference after being rebuilt.
The Miami Heat’s run as a dominant force in the NBA, or even the weaker Eastern Conference, appeared to die with LeBron James’ departure to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Don’t tell center Chris Bosh, who elected to stay in South Beach though he entertained offers from other teams, most notably the Houston Rockets.
From Hot Hot Hoops’ Surya Fernandez:
"For his final question, Bosh was asked about the Heat’s chances of returning to the NBA Finals and if the team has what it takes to make it.“Absolutely,” he responded. “I think we do. We have the experience, we have the talent, we have the leadership, we just all have to bring those things together. (If we) bring the chemistry on the court, believe in ourselves, and just go out there and let it hang loose and compete, then I think we’ll be alright.”"
I don’t think anyone really sees the Miami Heat making a run at the Cavaliers to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.
Sure they Heat have Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside to compliment Bosh. But an aging and breaking down Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng round out the starting five.
The Heat also drafted Justise Winslow, and signed Amar’e Stoudemire and Gerald Green. There is potential for a deep playoff run, but I don’t know anyone sees them taking down trying to take down LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.
I’ll take the Cavaliers’ big three over the Heat any day. Let’s also not act like LeBron James was able to basically get the Cavaliers into the NBA Finals single-handedly after Love and Irving go down with injuries.
Now imagine a healthy Cavaliers squad?
