Fantasy Football: Fanduel Week 2 picks, 2015
High Value Quarterbacks
Sam Bradford-Philadelphia Eagles (7,500): Bradford and the Eagles offense got off to a sluggish start in Atlanta and quickly fell behind and abandoned the running game. By the end of the game, Bradford had thrown for 336 yards and one touchdown (well, two if you count the one that should have been a touchdown to Jordan Matthews). This week, he’ll be leading the Eagles at home against a Cowboys defense that looked solid week 1, but I still think Bradford makes a solid play in Chip Kelly’s up-tempo attack at home.
Marcus Mariota-Tennessee Titans (7,400): The Titans QB made a huge splash last week finishing with 25 FanDuel points after throwing four touchdown passes in the first half of the Titans’ romp over Jameis Winston and the Bucs. Mariota will face a tougher defense this week as he and the Titans travel to Cleveland, but it should be a game Mariota can win especially if he faces Johnny Manziel and the Titans defense can get him the ball often and in good field position. He’s likely to be more owned this week than last week in his debut, and his value has climbed quite a bit after his impressive week 1.
Teddy Bridgewater-Minnesota Vikings (7,000): Despite a Monday Night Football disappointment, I expect Bridgewater to bounce back with a good game at home in week 2 against the Detroit Lions. The Lions defense is solid against the run, but they were beaten badly by Philip Rivers last week who threw for a ton of yards and let his team in a comeback. I believed in Bridgewater before the season started, so at this price point and in this matchup I think he’s a good play on FanDuel week 2 since many owners may be tempted to give up on him after a rough week one.
Nick Foles-St. Louis Rams (6,500): The Rams got off to a strong start to the season with a 34-31 win in overtime against Seattle. Nick Foles threw for 297 yards in the team’s win with one touchdown. I think Foles is lined up for another good game this week as he and the Rams travel to FedEx Field to take on Washington. Last season, Foles led the Eagles to a 37-34 win over Washington throwing for 324 yards and three touchdowns. The Rams offense may be much more whole this week with Todd Gurley, Tre Mason, and Brian Quick all trying to return to action. Taking him out of the dome and on the road is a risk, but Foles is a solid value play this week and at his price he’s cheaper than Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick and costs the same as Johnny Manzeil. If you got cheaper at QB, he’s an awesome value
Last Week: Carson Palmer, Sam Bradford, Ryan Fitzpatrick
