High Priced Running Backs

DeMarco Murray-Philadelphia Eagles (8,300): Murray is in his “revenge game” this week as the Eagles host his former team the Cowboys.  His Eagles debut was an odd one in which he managed just nine yards rushing on eight carries and 11 yards receiving on four catches, but he still posted solid fantasy numbers since he found the end zone twice.  Philadelphia’s offense faltered early in week 1 and was forced to play from behind, but I expect them to commit to the running game on Sunday in their game against Dallas, and Murray should be plenty motivated to show his former teammates what they’re missing now that he’s joined the Eagles. Murray is risky after a down week 1, but I think Chip Kelly will be sure to show off his new running back this week at home.

LeSean McCoy-Buffalo Bills (8,100): McCoy’s status for week 1 was up in the air, but he managed to play through a hamstring injury without incident taking 17 carries for 41 years and adding 46 yards on three catches.  He didn’t find the end zone, but I expect that to change this week as the Bills host the Patriots.  New England’s run defense didn’t look good against De’Angelo Williams in the opener of the season, and I expect McCoy to find plenty of running room as Rex Ryan looks to ground and pound the Patriots into submission.

Mark Ingram-New Orleans Saints (8,000): In one of the more unexpected lines in Sunday’s box score, Mark Ingram didn’t have much success running the ball but suddenly became a pass-catching back in the Saints offense and still did enough to make his fantasy owners happy.  He hauled in eight passes for 98 yards in the Saints week 1 loss but only managed 24 yards on nine carries.  This week, Ingram is in a great matchup against the Bucs at the Superdome in New Orleans, but his value will remain closely tied to the availability of C.J. Spiller. If Spiller is still sidelined for week 2, Ingram will be an awesome play at under 6K this week.

Last Week: Jeremy Hill, DeMarco Murray, Mark Ingram
