High Priced Wide Receivers

Antonio Brown-Pittsburgh Steelers (9,200): If you’re going to spend big on a wide receiver this week, Antonio Brown is the way I would go.  He costs 400 more than any other receiver on Fanduel week 2, but Brown should get a ton of targets once again as the Steelers remain without Martavis Bryant and Le’Veon Bell for another week.  Brown finished last week’s game with a garbage-time touchdown (which still counts) and 133 yards on nine catches. The 49ers did a great job confusing Teddy Bridgewater on Monday Night Football, but I think Big Ben will rely heavily on Brown to beat the San Francisco defense in the Steelers’ home opener.

Keenan Allen-San Diego Chargers (8,200): Allen didn’t find the end zone but still pulled in a ton of fantasy points week one since he finished with a league-high 15 catches to go with 166 yards.  Reportedly, Allen is refocused and ready for a huge season, and week 1 definitely was a step in that direction.  In week 2, he’ll have to deal with the Adam Jones and the Bengals secondary, but as long as he can avoid being helmet-slammed I expect another big game from the Chargers top receiver.

DeAndre Hopkins-Houston Texans (8,100): Hopkins had a two-touchdown game in week one and looks like he’ll be able to produce despite the Texans QB issues. He was targeted 13 times in Houston’s week 1 loss to the Chiefs, and he’ll be in line for a ton of work again this week as the Texans visit Carolina

Julian Edelman-New England Patriots (7,600): The Patriots WR corps has been thinned out due to injury leaving Edelman even more targets than he always hauls in. In week 1, he caught 11 passes from Tom Brady for 97 yards. Even though the Bills defense is good, Edelman has a very good history against them.  Last season, he caught nine passes for 91 yards against them in the one game he played against them, and in 2013 he had two good games against them finishing with 16 catches, 154 yards, and two touchdowns in their two meetings. With few options in the passing game and the Bills throwing all their coverage at Gronk, Edelman will be productive again in Fanduel week 2.

Last Week: Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas, Dez Bryant, Randall Cobb
