Milwaukee Brewers Pitcher Jimmy Nelson Hit By Line Drive

Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson was hit by a line drive on Thursday night
One of the scariest things you can see in sports, especially in a baseball game is a line drive back to the mound at a pitcher’s head. Tonight was one of those scary moments.
The Milwaukee Brewers are taking on the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. Jimmy Nelson got the start for the Brewers tonight. In the third inning, Cardinal rookie Tommy Pham stepped into the box. This was the result.
108 MPH coming right back your face. Scary no? The ball hits Nelson right in the back of the head and bounced pretty far. You could see the reaction by Pham standing at second base.
Nelson somehow managed to sit up and walk out to the dugout on his own power after. I know if it was me, I would have been down for the count. Here’s an update from the Brewers.
This is the first full season in the Brewers rotation for the 26 year old righty. Coming into tonight, he is 11-12 with a 3.95 ERA in 29 starts. Nelson leads the league with 13 hit batters.
In 175.1 innings, he’s struck out just 147 batters, but only given up 158 hits.
Nelson was the Brewers second round pick in the 2010 draft.
The Brewers are 62-83, 29 games behind the Cardinals in the National League Central division. The Cardinals are 91-54 and currently have the best record in baseball.
Hopefully Nelson will be fine and be able to make another start this season.
