Pelicans unveil new Mardi Gras jerseys (Video)
Before a large audience, the New Orleans Pelicans an alternate jersey that is a new variation of their former Mardi Gras uniforms.
It’s officially jersey unveiling season in the NBA.
As teams begin to roll out their alternate uniforms that they are wearing for the new seasons, each jersey seems to get more interesting and interesting. The New Orleans Pelicans are one of many teams rolling out a new jersey this season, as they join the popular trend of NBA teams having multiple variations of uniforms.
Their new alternate jersey, is a new variation on the popular Mardi Gras jersey the team once had. The sleeved jerseys are that purple/navy blue color with green stripes on the shoulders, with yellow trim and a duel yellow stripe down the side of the shorts.
The Pelicans showed their civic pride by putting “NOLA” across the front to represent who they play for and the city’s deep cultural roots and heritage.
In front of a large audience of the local youth of New Orleans, a curtain dropped as the Hornets walked out wearing the new duds.
It was a complete Mardi Gras-themed celebration for a Mardi Gras inspired uniforms. When the original Mardi Gras uniforms were worn, they were a fan favorite because of the way they embodied the New Orleans spirit with their unique colors.
The new alternates are different than the teams current color scheme, but it’s cool to see them embrace the colors that match their city. There’s a lot of bad alternate jerseys in the NBA, but this is one of the better alternate jerseys in the league.
