10 biggest MLB surprises in 2015: Hitters
Earlier in the season, Nolan Arenado was one of my dark-horse picks to win the National League MVP, but being on the Colorado Rockies hasn’t exactly helped that cause.

The Rockies currently have the third-worst record in all of baseball and Arenado’s infield teammate Troy Tulowitzki was dealt at the trade deadline, making Colorado’s offense that much less powerful and exciting.
Don’t sleep on the talent and potential of the 24-year-old third baseman from California as Arenado is one of those young players who just gets it.
Arenado was solid in his first two seasons in the league, hitting no higher than .287 with a combined 28 home runs and 113 RBI, but he wasn’t blowing anyone away with his offense — the potential was there, however.
Now that he’s in his third season in the league, he has put everything together and has really shocked some people with his offensive prowess. He’s currently hitting .283 with 39 homers and 111 RBI — he’s shattering personal bests and setting the bar very high for his fourth year.
At the rate he’s currently going, he will hit his 100th home run by the age of 25 and join a pretty exclusive club. The scary thing is, he hasn’t even scratched the surface yet.
