South Carolina Gamecocks vs. No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs (2-0) will look to extend their undefeated record this Saturday at Sanford Stadium, as they play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks (1-1).
Georgia quarterback Greyson Lambert is coming off of a less than stellar performance last week against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The graduate transfer completed just over half of his passes, throwing for a mere 116 yards. Meanwhile, sophomore running back Nick Chubb continued his streak of dominance against Vanderbilt, rushing for 189 yards on the afternoon.
South Carolina is facing an uphill battle on the road this weekend. Perry Orth, a former walk-on, is slated to make his first career start under center for the Gamecocks. Orth completed 13 of 20 passes for 179 yards after taking over for the injured Connor Mitch during a losing effort to Kentucky last week, throwing one touchdown and one interception in the process.
While it will be a difficult task to pull off the upset, it would not be a complete shock. South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has had the Bulldogs’ number throughout his career, compiling an impressive 16-6 record against Georgia with victories in four of the past five meetings.
The game will be televised on ESPN, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET. Live streaming will be available via Watch ESPN.
