The Buffalo Bills lost to the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon, but they got a big win after the contest. Defensive back Aaron Williams was injured in the third quarter while trying to tackle Julian Edelman on a touchdown reception, and stayed down and motionless for several minutes. Williams was carefully put on a board and then a stretcher before an ambulance pulled onto the field in front of a worried crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium before being transported to a local hospital.
Luckily, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora is reporting that Williams has been released from the hospital.
Aaron Williams went through a battery of tests and has been released from the hospital according to the Bills. Great news

This is awesome. Williams’ injury was one of those that really makes you evaluate how important a game is (the answer is not very). There have also been a bevy of reports stating that Williams has feeling in all of his extremities, showcasing that he has avoided a worst-case scenario. Buffalo has been Williams’ home for the last five years since being taken in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas. Williams has moved around a bit in the secondary, toggling between safety and corner.
There is not an update on whether or not Williams will miss any time, but right now, the news has been very positive. The Bills almost came back against New England following the injury, but ultimately fell 40-32.
