Dallas Cowboys def. Philadelphia Eagles 20-10: Full highlights, final score and more
By Mike Dyce
The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles played a horrendous game.
The Dallas Cowboys went on the road to play the Philadelphia Eagles and neither team can be incredibly proud of how they played. Both teams struggled to generate any kind of offense and defense seemed to be running the show.
To make matters worse, the Dallas Cowboys lost star quarterback Tony Romo. The Cowboys are already without star wide receiver Dez Bryant, who broke a bone in his foot and is expected to be out 10-12 weeks. The early diagnosis and estimates on Romo is that he’ll be out eight weeks.
The Cowboys lone touchdown came from a blocked punt which was returned for a touchdown. When Brandon Weeden came into the game, he completed his first seven passes including a long touchdown to Terrance Williams.
At that point the Cowboys seemingly put the nail in the coffin for what was a sloppy game but both sides, particularly the Eagles who turned over the ball in creative ways.
Three stars
- Brandon Weeden, QB, Cowboys – Came into the game to replace the injured Tony Romo, completed his first seven passes and threw a touchdown.
- Sean Lee, LB, Cowboys – Came up with a huge interception in the end zone to stop an Eagles run. He also had an absurd amount of tackles.
- J.J. Wilcox, DB, Cowboys – With the Cowboys clinging to hope without Romo, Wilcox made a big interception to thwart an Eagles drive and keep his team in the game.
Highlights
There weren’t necessarily a ton of highlights earlier in the game. The first of which was a blocked punt the Cowboys returned for a touchdown thanks to a huge block on the Eagles punter Donnie Jones.
Lance Dunbar was used in go routes a lot and made a huge coach.
The other big moment of the game was when Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo landed on his shoulder after fumbling the ball.
With the Eagles knocking on the door, linebacker Sean Lee came up with a big interception, though Sam Bradford threw it right in his gut.
Eagles running back DeMarco Murray made Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr look silly by hurdling him.
Odds
Eagles (-4)
The Dallas Cowboys not only beat the spread, but dominated the Eagles at home.
Next Week
Next week the Cowboys host the Atlanta Falcons. It looks like they’ll be without Romo and have Weeden under center. The Cowboys have maintained that they’ll re-evaluate Romo’s status early in the week.
The Eagles will travel to take on the New York Jets, a team that looks like a formidable opponent.
