Welcome back to Last night in the WNBA Playoffs, a running post you’ll see throughout the next month or so as we march towards the crowning of a new WNBA champion.

Indiana Fever 89 – Chicago Sky 82 (Series tied 1-1)

Last night’s matchup was the first elimination game of the playoffs, as the Sky had a chance to sweep the Fever in two games. And you already know Chicago was ready.

You don’t see just how wild the crowd is…

You don’t see just how fly my style is.

The Fever were ready too, of course, and they weren’t going down without a fight, especially not Tamika Catchings.

It was the Sky who jumped out to an early lead thanks to some sweet passing by Jessica Breland.

But the Fever got right back into with some slick moves from Shenise Johnson.

Once again the Fever frustrated Elena Delle Donne, holding her to just 11 points on 3-9 shooting.

Briann January said let me see that real quick, EDD.

The Fever held on in the fourth quarter, and now we head back to Chicago on Monday night for the deciding Game 3 of this awesome first-round series.

Phoenix Mercury 91 – Tulsa Shock 67

Tulsa’s first ever playoff game also became their last, as the Shock fell apart at the end of the third quarter. The Mercury’s two dominant wins see them advance to the Western Conference Finals for the third straight season, and the seventh time in the last nine years.

Griner was dominant again, scoring 23 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and blocking 5 shots.

Bye, bye Tulsa. We’ll miss you in the saddest fashion.
