Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton flipped over a defender into the end zone and almost stuck the landing.

The Carolina Panthers are playing the Houston Texans at home and just possibly turned in the play of the year. Quarterback Cam Newton dropped back from about three yards out and either abandoned the play or it was a designed draw.

As he approached the goal line a Texans defender was there ready to drop the boom on Newton.

But this is Super Cam, and he channeled his inner-Jerome Simpson. Newton went airborne and flipped over the defender into the end zone. He nearly stuck the landing as well if it weren’t for a Texans defender colliding with him, unintentionally, to knock him off balance.

I’ll never get tired of watching athletes do impressive things that seem to defy physics and the law of natures. Football players hurling their bodies up into the air and over defenders while flipping into the end zone will never get old.

It has to be on the top of the list of impressive things athletes do. Simpson still tops Newton because he landed his and the flip seemed more intentional, but Newton was still impressive.
