With the MLB regular season coming to a close, we take a look at some of the biggest disappointments on the pitcher’s mound in 2015.

2015 has seen an array of pitchers emerge onto the scene and surprise the MLB community.

These players have either established themselves as a rising star, overcame recent setbacks or taken the final step towards becoming an elite pitcher. Some will bring home prestigious accolades at the end of the season, while others have led their respective teams to playoff contention. Among the biggest surprises have been Noah Syndergaard of the New York Mets, Taylor Jungmann of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Kansas City Royals’ Ryan Madson.

But there have been plenty of disappointments as well.

It could be a young pitcher who showed promise last season, yet fell apart in 2015. In other instances, it is a reliable veteran known for his consistency that becomes a victim of injury, poor performance or both. Many times, it is an offseason acquisition that falls well short of expectations.

Regardless of the situation, each pitcher on this list gave us reasons to believe in them this season, and failed to deliver on the field. It does not mean that they cannot bounce back, but it does mean that they have serious issues to overcome or correct before taking the mound next year.

Here is a look at the Top 10 biggest disappointments among MLB pitchers in 2015.
