Aaron Rodgers pulled a nice little troll job on Russell Wilson after Sunday’s game.

It was a troll eight months in the making, and Aaron Rodgers knocked that bad rascal out of the park. First, a little background.

Back in January, following Seattle’s dramatic come-from-behind victory over Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game, Russell Wilson praised God for the four interceptions he threw in the contest. According to Wilson, per Peter King, it was all part of the Big Guy’s plan’s to make a more dramatic game.

"“That’s God setting it up, to make it so dramatic, so rewarding, so special,” he said, alone for a moment in the locker room before heading out for the night. “I’ve been through a lot in life, and had some ups and downs. It’s what’s led me to this day.”"

Aaron Rodgers, who is pious in his own right, has largely made a point to keep his religious beliefs away from the forefront of his professional life. When asked about it, he willingly answers, but Rodgers isn’t going to drop a “God bless you” at at every turn like a Tim Tebow or go out of his way to discuss faith like Wilson.

In fact, when once asked by Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee about his thoughts on God’s role in sporting events, Rodgers offered up a rather level-headed answer. Essentially, it’s about the people in the game, not the contest itself or the outcome.

"“I don’t think God cares a whole lot about the outcome. He cares about the people involved, but I don’t think he’s a big football fan.”"

Circling back to the present day, Rodgers and the Packers gained revenge against the Seahawks on Sunday, beating Seattle 27-17. It was a tightly contested game until the fourth quarter, when Green Bay outscored the opposition 11-0 in the final period and forced turnovers in Seattle’s final two possessions.

Following the game, when talking with reporters, Rodgers slid in a little jab that God was a Packers fan that night.

Boom roasted. Have to imagine A-Aron was sitting on that one-liner for quite some time.
