Welcome back to Last night in the WNBA Playoffs, a running post you’ll see throughout the next month or so as we march towards the crowning of a new WNBA champion.

New York Liberty 86 – Washington 68 (Series tied 1-1)

The Mystics had a chance to sweep the top-seeded Liberty yesterday, and they had John Wall in the building showing them love.

But right from the jump it was all Liberty. Epiphanny Prince is straight cash, homie.

Tayler Hill kept the Mystics around for a while by knocking down all sorts of threes.

This will forever be known as the Tina Charles game, though. She went in as the #youths say, dropping 17 points in the third quarter on her way to 22 for the game.

The Mystics just never really had a chance.

Los Angeles Sparks 81 – Minnesota Lynx 71

AIR. HORN. PLEASE.

This game was wild as h*ck.

Candace Parker had 25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Maya Moore had 27 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. Ana Dabovic came off the bench to drop 19 points and hand out 7 assists.

The Lynx had a small lead most of the first quarter. Shout out Seimone Augustus.

But then it was time for the Sparks to take over. Candace Parker and Nneka Ogwumike scored 22 of the Sparks’ 29 second quarter points as LA went up 18 at halftime.

It’s a complete wrap for other squads when Candace is knocking down threes.

Candace System. You’re welcome.

So of course the Lynx promptly went on a 15-2 run to start the second half.

They could never get closer though, as the Sparks held them at an arms length for the rest of the night to force a Game 3.

Ana Dabovic capped off her brilliant performance with this three off the glass.

Dame Lillard (rocking an Indians hat?) and Magic Johnson were in the house to take in the Sparks’ W.

The Sparks had Long Beach going up on a Sunday.
