Stephen Curry and Stephen Colbert battled in a laundry-shooting contest for Google search supremacy

Stephen Curry was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night helping the former Colbert Report host continue his venture into the world of network late-night talk shows. However, Colbert took issue with Curry because the Golden State Warriors point guard and reigning NBA MVP is the top result in the Google search for “Stephen.” To settle the score, Colbert challenged his guest to a shooting contest.
While challenging arguably the most dangerous offensive player in the NBA to a shooting contest isn’t a wise venture for a talk show host, Colbert put a twist on things by having them shoot socks into a laundry hamper. The results were predictably fantastic:
There’s no conclusion on the Google search front after the contest, but we’re all better for having watched it play out. Colbert also walks away with some bragging rights for matching a deadeye shooter in Curry in the contest, even if laundry shooting isn’t necessarily Curry’s niche.
For Colbert, this is also refreshing to see him maintaining his persona while taking the plunge into late night bits such as this one. Having someone as likable and marketable as Curry to help him doesn’t hurt, either.
