Todd Frazier gets into awkward position during foul ball catch (Video)
By Josh Hill
Reds third baseman Todd Frazier made an incredible catch, but things got weird pretty quickly thereafter.
It’s hard to make a great catch in baseball without something happening to make it even greater than it already was going to be. Look no further than Anthony Rizzo climbing over the rolled up tarp at Wrigley Field to make a catch in foul territory for proof of this — but looks at Todd Frazier for the opposite end of that spectrum.
While it was still a catch, Frazier was put in an interesting situation when he tumbled over the the photo pit along foul territory. Reds pitcher Keyvius Sampson was similarly put in an interesting position when he attempted to catch his third baseman who was catching the ball in the most Inception catch this season.
Just watch, and try not to feel uncomfortable:
A closer look:
No matter who you are, that doesn’t look comfortable in the least bit. It’s bad enough to be hanging over the railing like that, but think about poor Sampson here. Not only does he have to watch the railing himself, but he has to make sure Frazier doesn’t kill himself making the out to help his pitcher out.
