It took a full series to decide a winner, but after three games the __ are on to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The WNBA Playoffs are ready to tip off the Conference Finals round, and we now know who is going to be representing the Eastern Conference as the best two teams in the East. The Indiana Fever were already on to the Conference Finals after disposing of the Chicago Sky, but the Mystics and Liberty needed a full series to decide a winner.
Bill Lambier’s Liberty dropped a huge game in Game 1 and weren’t able to capitalize with a series win this weekend, but they didn’t come out to a hot in Game 3. Washington umped out to a 25-15 lead at the end of the first quarter, but if you counted the Liberty out after that, you were sorely mistaken late in the game.
New York came roaring back to dominate in the clutch late in the fourth quarter, going on a 6-0 run inside of the final few minutes of the game to take the series win.
Here’s a look at the updated WNBA Playoffs bracket now that the New York Liberty are on to the Conference Finals:

It’s on to Indiana now, as the Liberty and Fever will be battling it out in a series to determine who will make a trip to the WNBA Finals. There’s also the fact that the Liberty have the weight of New York riding on their shoulders. It’s been a very, very long time since New York has seen anything close to good basketball, let alone meaningful basketball, and this run by the Liberty will provide some relief before the pain of the Knicks season arrives next month.
