The WNBA Playoffs are closing out the first round, and either New York or Washington will be advancing to play Indiana in the Conference Finals.
We have just two games left int he first round of the WBA Playoffs, and tonight is the night we will see if a basketball team from New York is actually capable of winning a meaningful game. Just the mere fact that a team from New York is playing a meaningful game at all is mind boggling, let alone the fact that it’s a playoff game.
That’s where the New York Liberty are though, as they are in a win-or-go-home game against the Washington Mystics. One of the two teams will emerge from tonight showdown with a ticket to the Conference Finals and matchup with the Indiana Fever. So far it’s been a slot series — beyond the obvious — as this isn’t a contest that heavily favors either side. Fans will be pulling for New York for the sole fact that the city needs a basketball winner, but don’t count out the Mystics who took Game 1 in convincing fashion.
