3. Justin Upton-OF-San Diego Padres: On the other side of the Padres-Giants matchup tonight, the Padres have very little to play for as they take on Jake Peavy.  One hitter in the San Diego lineup that has consistently hit Peavy well in the past is Justin Upton who is 9-17 (.529) with a triple, a pair of homers, and six RBI.

2. Adam Jones-OF-Baltimore Orioles: One of the few non-divisional games today is the Orioles visiting the Nationals in a regional interleague rivalry.  As the two teams battle for the beltway, look for Adam Jones to have a good game tonight since he enters the contest 11-22 (.500) with two doubles, three homers, and four RBI in his career against Nats’ starter Max Scherzer.

1. Adrian Beltre-3B-Texas Rangers: The top spot in my batter vs pitcher matchups for today goes to Adrian Beltre as he and the Rangers face the Athletics in Oakland.  Beltre is a very impressive 7-11 (.636) with a pair of doubles and a pair of homers while driving nine RBI in his limited appearances against Felix Doubront.  Averaging almost an RBI per at-bat is a good way to go if you’re looking for some pop from the hot corner tonight.
