Paul Pierce says he will retire if the Clippers win NBA title
By Jack Crosby
If the Los Angeles Clippers win the NBA Championship, then this will be the last that we see of Paul Pierce, apparently
Over the course of the past few seasons, we’ve wondered whether or not it would be the last season for the one and only Paul Pierce. Yet, year after year, he chooses to stay in the league. This past off-season, he chose to continue his career even further, signing a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, a perennial contender in the West.
But, there’s a chance that Pierce might not see the end of that contract. This all depends, however, on whether or not the Clippers can capture the title that has eluded them for the past few seasons.
Pierce revealed on Friday that should this team capture the title this season, then he will hang up the sneakers for good and call it a career.
This would be the perfect move, if the team can get it done this season. After 17 years in the NBA, helping the Clippers get over the hump and win a title would be a nice stamp on one of the more storied careers in the history of the league.
After re-signing DeAndre Jordan following whatever that was that really happened with the Dallas Mavericks, this is most certainly a team that can make a run at that Larry O’Brien trophy in 2015-16. The addition of Pierce, who has already won a title himself, definitely helps the matters.
Will we see the perfect storybook ending for Paul Pierce this year?
