Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks

It’s a battle of two 0-2 teams on Sunday when the Chicago Bears take on the Seattle Seahawks. For Seattle, they are coming off two very tough losses on the road. The Bears are coming off two losses and are facing an uncertain future as their starting quarterback Jay Cutler is out with a hamstring injury. In his place, backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen will step up to take on the Seahawks as they welcome the return of Kam Chancellor to the lineup. Chancellor ended his holdout from the team this week, and the Seahawks certainly missed his presence in the lineup.

Keys to Victory

For the Seattle Seahawks, there is no excuse for them not to make this week the week to get things right. They’re facing a banged up Bears team that is only in the third game of the John Fox regime. They’re face a Bears team that is also starting Jimmy Clausen at quarterback.

With Kam Chancellor back in the fold, the secondary of the Seahawks should look like the secondary of old, instead of the one that has been terrible the first couple of weeks this season. Alshon Jeffery could end up missing another game for the Bears, which would mean they would be lacking weapons against the return of the “Legion of Boom.”

The Bears chances hinge on the defense pitching a perfect game and taking advantage of a bad Seahawks offensive line. If they can bust through the line and stop the run game, then they will give themselves a chance. With a backup quarterback starting, the Bears defense is going to have to help the offense. That means forcing turnovers and putting the offense in good field position.

Seattle this week should look to get Jimmy Graham more involved on offense. The tight end hasn’t been happy about his role with his new team, and perhaps with the whole squad back together, this week would be a good week to make Graham happy and get him his touches.

Prediction

The Seahawks have Kam Chancellor back and are at home for the first time this season. The Bears are missing a lot of pieces and have Jimmy Clausen at quarterback. This one is going to get ugly and ugly fast. The Seahawks secondary will cause turnovers early and get the crowd in it to pump them up even more. Marshawn Lynch will pound the football on the ground and Russell Wilson will find Jimmy Graham in the red zone for a couple of scores. Seattle will roll big time at home.

Final Score: Chicago Bears 3, Seattle Seahawks 31
