The Bears went out west to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday with both seeking their first win, and it was Seattle that got just that
In Seattle on Sunday, the Seahawks and the Chicago Bears did battle to see who would come out with their first win of the season. Both of these teams can into this one at 0-2, with a lot of people surprised that the Seahawks were even in this position to begin with.
Well, have no fear, Seattle fans. The first win is in the books as the Seahawks did come away with their first win of the season, a 26-0 shutout of the Bears.
The first half of this one on Sunday was the Steven Hauschka Show, as he banged through a field goal in each quarter to give the team a 6-0 lead heading into the half. The second half, however, is where the Seahawks started to roll and they started to roll right off the bat here.
On the opening kickoff of the second half, stud rookie Tyler Lockett returned the ball 105 yards to the house for the 13-0 lead. With about four minutes to go in the third quarter, the offense would strike, as Jimmy Graham picked up his first touchdown as a member of the organization. Russell Wilson would find the tight end for a 30-yard score to push things to 20-0 in this one.
In the fourth quarter, Hauschka would add two more field goals to push things to 26-0. That would be all the scoring we would see in this one the rest of the way.
The “Legion of Boom,” with the returning Kam Chancellor, gets their first shutout of the season.
