The Pittsburgh Steelers are holding their breath as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was carted off the field.
UPDATE 2: It appears that we won’t know much more about Big Ben’s status until tonight at the earliest when an MRI is completed in Pittsburgh.

UPDATE 1: Albert Breer from NFL Network opines that the injury looks like the ACL tear that ended Tom Brady’s season in 2008.
Roethlisberger injury reminiscent of Brady's in 2008 ... Defender on the ground, momentum carries him into the QB's knee.

After the Pittsburgh Steelers put together a decent offseason, there was a ton of hope that this would be a return to form year for Mike Tomlin’s team. But the jury bug has bitten the NFL hard this season and it has targeted big names all across the sport. Last week Dallas Cowboys lost Tony Romo a week after losing Dez Bryant and the New Orleans Saints aren’t sure how long Drew Brees is going to be out with a shoulder injury. But the most gruesome injury happened on Sunday in St. Louis where the Steelers watched Ben Roethlisberger go down with harsh injury that seems like it might end his season. IN the short term, his day in St. Louis done but it’s yet to be determined what the long term damage is here.

Just announced. Roethlisberger won't return the remainder of the game because of left knee injury.

Fantasy football owners are going to be scrambling to find out what happened to Roethlisberger and it’s not looking like its’ going to be good. On the plus side, Mike Vick is under center and is a capable backup, but there’s the fact of the matter that the Steelers are without their elite leader and might have to ride out the rest of this year with Vick instead.
