Beyond the Flag
#4 Kevin Harvick, Ditech Chevrolet For $11,000 (Qualed 2nd): I don’t usually like to recommend high-qualifying race cars in DK fantasy formats but this is a great situation for an exception. Kevin has two 3rd place finishes in the last two races at NHMS and desperately needs a strong finish to make up for his disastrous finish at Chicagoland last week. Most importantly, the #4 has been extremely fast this weekend, with no worse than 2nd in the qualifying and last two practices.
#18 Kyle Busch, Pedigree Toyota for $10,800 (Qualed 17th): Kyle has two Cup wins at Loudon, including the win here in July, and has a very lucrative 17th fantasy starting position on Sunday. Despite the mediocre qualifying run, the #18 rebounded to post the 2nd fastest lap in the last practice session. He has been as good as anyone since returning from his Daytona 500 injury, and is a MUST play on Sunday.

Medium-High: $9,100 to $10,000

#78 Martin Truex Jr., Furniture Row/Visser Precision Chevrolet for $9,100 (Qualed 21st): Truex has been solid, although unspectacular, at NHMS in his career. He has 12th place finishes in his last 3 here and has only one finish worse than 22nd in 19 lifetime starts. He has shown a Top 20 car at a minimum in practice. His 21st starting position is simply too good on DK to pass on the #78, who has a legitimate shot at his first Sprint Cup Championship.
#20 Matt Kenseth, Dollar General Toyota for $10,000 (Qualed 13th): Kenseth has been on fire, with 3 wins and 4 Top 5s in his last seven Cup races, and is a serious threat to win his 2nd Sprint Cup Championship. He also has an average finish of 8.2 here since 2013 which is 3rd among active drivers. Plus, the #20 had no less than the 10th fastest lap in any of the practices. From the 13th spot and in one of several JGR cars that shows speed week in and week out, this is a very good play for the price.
Next: Medium-Low Priced Drivers - $7,200 to $8,700

Medium-Low: $7,200 to $8,700
#15 Clint Bowyer, 5-Hour Energy Toyota for $7,500 (Qualed 26th): The 25 point penalty issued by NASCAR for violations found in the Chicagoland race last week has put the #15 team in a precarious position going into NHMS. Bowyer needs a win badly or a very good finish and some luck to get him back in mix for the Contender Round. The good thing for Bowyer is that he has raced very good recently (Five Top 10s in his last 7 races) and is very good at Loudon. Bowyer has 2 career wins and an average finish of 14.7, which is 12th among currently drivers with 15 or more NHMS Cup starts. Plus, the 26th spot doesn’t hurt (and minimizes potential negative points) for a driver and team that will be very aggressive Sunday.
#1 Jamie McMurray, FLIRR Chevrolet for $7,900 (Qualed 23rd): McMurray has Top 5 finishes in his last two Sylvania 300s. In addition, he had a decent 14th fastest lap in the final practice. Currently 12th in the Chase standings, look for the #1 to run a conservative race to stay in contention for the next round. From the 23rd starting spot, you can reasonably expect 45+ FP if he runs a clean race.
Next: Low Priced Drivers - $6,900 and below

Bear Goggles On
#27 Paul Menard, Sylvania /Menards Chevrolet for $6,500 (Qualed 20th): Menard is 15th in the Challenger Standings and will need to roll the dice a little to improve track position and get a win or enough points to stay in the Race for the Chase. His 21.1 FPPG is a respectable 15th among DK drivers. The 20th starting spot is decent, but the $6,500 price tag (the lowest it has been since in the 7 races since DK’s salary recalibration) is what gives Menard and the #27 team fantasy value here.
#47 A.J. Allmendinger, Bush’s Chill Beans Chevrolet for $6,000 (Qualed 30th): Allmendinger has no worse than a 22nd finish in his last 8 Cup races at Loudon. Not great, but at $6,000 and starting 30th this is a driver that warrants serious consideration, especially if you chose to draft one of the – top-salaried drivers.
