New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall throws the ball away to the opposing team.
The New York Jets have been surprisingly good this season, but this is clearly the lowlight of the season and perhaps the most bone-headed play you’ll ever see.
With a 17-0 deficit in the first half, Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was trying to make a play. Unfortunately, he was being tackled so he went for an ill-advised lateral. Laterals are almost always a bad idea, and this is the textbook example of how not to do it.
Marshall literally chucks it right into the facemask of an Eagles player, leading to the ball bouncing off and then around the field.
Ultimately the Eagles recover it and it winds up being a turn over for the Jets. The play was reviewed and eventually confirmed as a fumble by the Jets and Marshall.
Marshall was visibly distraught on the side line.
Just when Jets fans were starting to think they won’t be the typical Jets anymore, they go and do something so typically Jets. Fans won’t be thrilled to see Marshall seem so carefree in regards to the play.
