The Buffalo Bills are absolutely waxing the Miami Dolphins in a Week 3 AFC East showdown, but they did sustain an injury to wide receiver Sammy Watkins. The second-year receiver has dealt with rib injuries throughout his early career, and this time has left the contest with a calf injury, according to Pro Football Talk. Watkins will not return, partly because the Bills are winning 34-8 in the fourth quarter at Sun Life Stadium.

In the first two weeks of the season, Watkins has not been much of a factor. Watkins failed to make a catch in Week 1 during a win over the Indianapolis Colts before making six receptions for 60 yards in a loss to the New England Patriots. Against the Dolphins, Watkins only caught one pass, although it went for 39 yards. Last year, Watkins looked like he was ready to become a star with 65 catches and 982 yards despite playing with Kyle Orton and having little help on the other side in Robert Woods.

Buffalo has been surprisingly potent offensively despite a new offense under coordinator Greg Roman. The Bills are trying to break in a new quarterback in Tyrod Taylor, who has looked the part of a starting quarterback to this point. On Sunday, Taylor is currently 21-of-28 for 277 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Miami is supposed to have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but it has been torn apart by the Bills in the Dolphins’ home opener.
